Turkey’s steel export volume up 6.4 percent in January-October

In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 6.4 percent year on year to 18.5 million mt, while the value of these exports moved down by 4.4 percent year on year to $13.6 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). 

In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports rose by 2.2 percent to 8.8 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 5.2 percent to 4.8 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-October period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports moved up by 82 percent to 1.2 million mt, year on year. 

In October this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 12.5 percent to 1.9 million mt, with a value of $1.4 billion, down 19.4 percent, both year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports decreased by one percent year on year to 488,000 mt, while its long steel product exports decreased by 18.4 percent year on year to 966,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports fell by 44.3 percent to 81,000 mt, year on year.
