Turkey’s steel export volume up 18.1 percent in Jan-Apr

In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 18.1 percent year on year to 7.7 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 5.1 percent year on year to $5.7 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). 

In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by seven percent to 3.3 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 44 percent to 2.3 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-April period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports moved up by 494.4 percent to 765,000 mt, year on year. 

In April this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 27.4 percent to 1.9 million mt, with a value of $1.4 billion, up 9.8 percent, both year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports increased by 56 percent year on year to 537,000 mt, while its long steel product exports increased by 0.2 percent year on year to 805,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports rose from 9,000 mt to 168,000 mt, year on year.
