Turkey’s steel export volume up 13.5 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 13.5 percent year on year to 13.1 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 0.7 percent year on year to $9.7 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). 

In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports rose by 6.7 percent to 6.1 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 10.4 percent to 3.6 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-July period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports moved up by 270 percent to 1 million mt, year on year. 

In July this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 5.7 percent to 1.9 million mt, with a value of $1.4 billion, down 4.5 percent, both year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports decreased by 21.4 percent year on year to 471,000 mt, while its long steel product exports increased by 20 percent year on year to 935,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports rose by 102.1 percent from 55,000 mt to 111,000 mt, year on year.
