Turkey’s steel export volume up 1.3 percent in January-November

In the first 11 months of last year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 1.3 percent year on year to 20.1 million mt, while the value of these exports moved down by eight percent year on year to $14.8 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). 

In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by 0.6 percent to 9.6 million mt, while its flat steel exports decreased by 1.9 percent to 5.3 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-November period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports moved up by 33 percent to 1.3 million mt, year on year. 

In November last year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 34 percent to 1.6 million mt, with a value of $1.2 billion, up 35.1 percent, both year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports decreased by 45.1 percent year on year to 417,000 mt, while its long steel product exports decreased by 23.5 percent year on year to 776,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports fell by 86 percent to 40,000 mt, year on year.
