In the first three months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 2.5 percent year on year to 5.1 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 23 percent year on year to $4.1 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by six percent to 2.7 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 23 percent to 1.2 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-March period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports fell by 65 percent to 120,000 mt, year on year.
In March this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 9.7 percent to 1.8 million mt, with a value of $1.5 billion, up 16 percent, both year on year.
In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports increased by 11.4 percent year on year to 437,000 mt, while its long steel product exports increased by one percent year on year to 1 million mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 84.3 percent to 31,000 mt, year on year.
