Turkey’s steel export value down 5.1 percent in May

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM), in May this year Turkey's steel exports totaled $1.3 billion in value, decreasing by 5.1 percent year on year and up 2.1 percent as compared to the previous month.

In May this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sector had the highest export value of the country's industrial sectors with $1.8 billion, up 11.6 percent year on year, while steel was the sector with the fourth highest export value.

On the other hand, in the first five months of this year Turkey's steel export value came to $6.36 billion, falling by 3.4 percent year on year.
