Turkey's seamless pipe imports up 8.80 percent in Jan-Oct

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first 10 months of the current year Turkey's seamless pipe imports totaled 180,134 mt, up 8.80 percent compared to the same period of 2012, while the value of these imports rose 4.40 percent year on year to $250.64 million.

In October this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 14,918 mt, down 42.65 percent compared to September and decreasing by 1.24 percent year on year. 
In the January-October period this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from the CIS amounted to 29,341 mt, decreasing 27.66 percent, while imports from the EU totaled 42,261 mt, almost stable, both year on year.

On the other hand, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 100,157 metric tons in the January-October period of the current year, up 28.64 percent year on year. China, which accounted for shares of 32.8 percent in 2011 and 47.7 percent in 2012 in Turkey's seamless pipe imports, achieved a 55.60 percent share in the first 10 months this year.
