In May this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 13,909 metric tons, down 34.28 percent year on year and decreasing by 42.49 percent compared to April, while the value of these imports totaled $25.35 million, down 9.24 percent year on year and decreasing by 29.9 percent month on month, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, in the first five months of this year Turkey's seamless pipe imports increased by 18.43 percent to 94,224 metric tons, while the value of these imports amounted to $138.7 million, up 16.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 56,844 metric tons, up 47.6 percent year on year. China was followed by Ukraine and Germany, with respectively 9,508 metric tons and 8,674 metric tons of seamless pipe exports to Turkey in the given period.
