According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 693,031 metric tons, decreasing by 2.95 percent year on year and up 10.65 percent from the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $397.88 million, falling by 7.23 percent compared to October 2012 and up 9.34 percent from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the first 10 months of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 6.64 million metric tons, down 4.86 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $3.89 billion, decreasing by 11.86 percent as compared to January-October 2012.
In October this year, the largest rebar export destination for Turkey was Iraq with exports amounting to 137,801 metric tons. Iraq was followed by the UAE with 107,806 metric tons and Yemen with 99,879 metric tons. Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of the year, Iraq remained Turkey's top rebar export destination, receiving 1.24 million metric tons.
