In August this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 535,850 metric tons, up 22.4 percent compared to July and increasing by 50.3 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $295.5 million, increasing by 80.9 percent compared to August 2017 and up 20 percent month on month.
In the first eight months of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 3.64 million mt, down 4.2 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 24 percent to $2.02 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 605,213 metric tons, up 44.4 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 431,597 metric tons and the US with 303,531 metric tons.
