In April this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 449,040 metric tons, down 25 percent compared to March and rising by one percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $196.7 million, increasing by 19.4 percent compared to April 2016 and down 19.8 percent month on month.
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 2.27 million mt, falling by 4.2 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 20.4 percent to $957.6 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 459,386 metric tons, up 0.25 percent year on year. The US was followed by Yemen with 287,282 metric tons and Israel with 224,417 metric tons.
