In September this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 250,148 metric tons, down 29.8 percent compared to August and falling by 44 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $123.2 million, falling by 27.6 percent compared to September 2016 and down 24.5 percent month on month.
In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 4.03 million mt, falling by 22 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 9.5 percent to $1.75 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 600,227 metric tons, down 37.86 percent year on year. The US was followed by Israel with 529,295 metric tons and Yemen with 448,105 metric tons.
