Turkey’s rebar exports down 19.7 percent in January-August

In August this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 356,478 metric tons, up 16.6 percent compared to July and falling by 39 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $163.3 million, falling by 27.8 percent compared to August 2016 and up 20.7 percent month on month.

In the first eight months of the current year, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 3.8 million mt, falling by 19.7 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 7.85 percent to $1.63 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 604,097 metric tons, down 33.63 percent year on year. The US was followed by Israel with 482,301 metric tons and Yemen with 419,018 metric tons.
