Turkey’s rebar exports down 12 percent in January-June

In June this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 449,285 metric tons, up 1.81 percent compared to May and falling by 31.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $191.9 million, decreasing by 33.3 percent compared to June 2016 and remaining almost unchanged month on month.

In the first half of the current year, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 3.15 million mt, falling by 12 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 1.5 percent to $1.33 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 534,972 metric tons, down 27.61 percent year on year. The US was followed by Yemen with 374,172 metric tons and Israel with 361,233 metric tons.
