Turkey’s PPGI exports up 67.2 percent in Q1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 20,664 mt, up 51.22 percent month on month and up 84 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $20.5 million, rising by 51.5 as compared to February and up 95 percent compared to the same month of 2017. 

During the first quarter, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 67.2 percent to 44,768 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $44.6 million, up 82.4 percent, both year on year.

Greece was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the first quarter of the current year, with imports of 7,971 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Greece was followed by the US and Bulgaria, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 7,258 mt and 3,770 mt respectively.
