Turkey’s PPGI exports up 59 percent in January-September

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 11,063 mt, down 8.1 percent month on month and down 12.9 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $11 million, falling by 1.8 percent compared to August and up 6.3 percent compared to the same month of 2016. 

In the January-September period this year, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 59 percent to 103,068 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $95.67 million, up 71.5 percent, both year on year.

Romania was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the first nine months of the current year, with imports of 15,487 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Romania was followed by Bulgaria and Russia, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 15,443 mt and 8,301 mt respectively.
