Turkey’s PPGI exports up 55 percent in January-February

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 13,664 mt, up 30.88 percent month on month and up 19.6 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $13.53 million, rising by 27.7 as compared to January and up 33.9 percent compared to the same month of 2017. 

During the January-February period, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 55 percent to 24,104 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $24.13 million, up 73.2 percent, both year on year.

Greece was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the first two months of the current year, with imports of 3,191 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Greece was followed by Bulgaria and Spain, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 2,743 mt and 2,278 mt respectively.
