Turkey’s PPGI exports up 27.1 percent in Jan-Aug

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 17,495 mt, increasing by three percent month on month and up 45.3 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $16.4 million, up 1.1 percent compared to July and increasing by 45.8 percent compared to the same month of 2017. 

During January-August period of the year, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 27.1 percent to 117,019 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $115.2 million, up 35.9 percent, both year on year.

Greece was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the first eight months of the current year, with imports of 17,028 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Greece was followed by the US and Bulgaria, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 11,656 mt and 11,604 mt respectively.
