In November last year, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 88,493 mt, down 34 percent compared to October and down five percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The total value of Turkey's pig iron imports in the given month decreased by 36 percent month on month and was up 31.1 percent year on year to $32.2 million.
In the January-November period of last year, Turkey's pig iron imports decreased by 11.3 percent to 926,654 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $329.3 million, up 27.7 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey imported 608,782 metric tons of pig iron from Russia, up 62.73 percent year on year. Russia ranked first among Turkey's pig iron import sources in the period in question, followed by Ukraine which supplied 169,736 mt, down 72.64 percent year on year.
