According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first 10 months of the current year Turkey's iron ore imports amounted to 6.73 million mt, increasing by 1.71 percent, with a value of $961.20 million, down 3.28 percent, both year on year.
On the other hand, in October this year Turkey's iron ore imports totaled 567,744 metric tons, increasing by 1.94 percent compared to previous month and down 22.11 year on year, while the value of these imports amounted to $83.03 million, up 0.36 percent compared to September and declining by 1.76 percent year on year.
In the January-October period this year, Turkey's iron ore imports from Brazil decreased by 44.06 percent year on year to 2.25 million mt, while its iron ore imports from Ukraine in the given period more than tripled on year-on-year basis to 1.63 million mt.
