Turkey’s HRC exports rise 41.6 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by six percent to 300,819 metric tons, compared to March and were up 67.1 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $153.06 million, decreasing by 7.8 percent month on month, while increasing by 29.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
 

In the first four months of this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 1.27 million mt, up 41.6 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 23.7 percent to $669.9 million, both compared to the same period of 2018.
 
In the first four months of the current year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 486,026 mt, up 30.03 percent, followed by Spain which received 217,635 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period, up 11.02 percent year on year.
