Turkey’s HRC exports rise 35.5 percent in Q1

In March this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 18.6 percent to 322,076 metric tons, compared to February and were up 54.9 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $167.3 million, decreasing by 20.5 percent month on month, while increasing by 32.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first three months of this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 971,312 mt, up 35.5 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 22.3 percent to $518.1 million, both compared to the same period of 2018.
 
In the first three months of the current year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 388,963 mt, up 15 percent, followed by Spain which received 175,543 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period, up 35.8 percent year on year.
