In December last year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 5.1 percent to 229,737 metric tons compared to November and were down 44.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $100 million, remaining stable month on month, while declining by 57.1 percent compared to the same month of 2018.
In 2019, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 3.07 million mt, down 12.9 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 26.9 percent to $1.57 billion, both compared to 2018.
Last year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 1.04 million mt, down 22.15 percent, followed by Spain which received 590,059 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period, down 14.28 percent year on year.
