In the January-November period of 2017, finished steel output in Turkey increased by five percent year on year to 35.6 million mt, according to the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
As stated in the TCUD report, in the first 11 months of 2017, Turkey's long product output totaled 23.7 million mt, declining by 1.5 percent, and its flat product output grew by 21 percent to 11.9 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
Finished steel consumption in Turkey in the first 11 months of last year rose by four percent year on year to 32.9 million mt. In the given period, 50.2 percent of total finished steel consumption was for long products, while 49.8 percent was accounted for by flat products.
In the January-November period of last year, Turkish consumption of long products rose by 0.2 percent to 16.5 million mt, while consumption of flat steel products increased 8.2 percent to 16.4 million mt, both year on year.
