Turkey’s ferroalloy imports up 10.7 percent in Feb over Jan

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's ferroalloy imports rose 10.7 percent compared to the previous month and were up 6.6 percent compared to February 2011, totaling 39,686 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $56 million, increasing by 14.4 percent as compared to January and down 6.2 percent year on year.

In the first two months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 75,514 metric tons, decreasing 2.4 percent compared to January-February 2011. Imports from Ukraine in the period in question amounted to 24,756 metric tons, falling by 20 percent, while imports from India in the first two months of the current year amounted to 15,526 mt, down 19 percent, both compared to the same period of 2011.
