Turkey’s crude steel output rises by 7.9 percent in Q1

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in March this year increased by 12.4 percent month on month and was up by 7.6 percent year on year to 3.4 million mt.  

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 10 percent, while production by integrated plants increased by 2.5 percent, both year on year.

In the first quarter, Turkish crude steel output rose by 7.9 percent 8.8 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 10.8 percent to 6.6 million mt, while production by integrated plants increased by two percent to 2.9 million mt, both year on year.

In the January-March period of this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 8.4 percent to 6.5 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 6.8 percent to 3.0 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
