Turkey’s crude steel output rises by 14.1 percent in Jan-Mar

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in March this year increased by 13.6 percent month on month and was up by 14 percent year on year to 3.11 million mt. 
 
In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 20 percent, while production by integrated plants increased by 3.2 percent, both year on year.
 
In the first three months of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 14.1 percent 8.8 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 19.2 percent to 5.9 million mt while production by integrated plants increased by 4.9 percent to 2.9 million mt, both year on year.
 
In the January-March period of this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 7.3 percent to 5.9 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 31.2 percent to 2.85 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
