Turkey’s crude steel output rises by 0.9 percent in January-September

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in September this year decreased by 5.9 percent to 2.8 million mt, both compared to the same month of 2017 and the previous month of this year.

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces fell by 2.9 percent, while production by integrated plants decreased by 12.5 percent, both year on year.

In the January-September period of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 0.9 percent to 28 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 1.4 percent to 19.4 million mt, while production by integrated plants decreased by 0.4 percent to 8.6 million mt, both year on year.

In the January-September period of this year, Turkey's billet output decreased by two percent to 18.6 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 6.9 percent to 9.4 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
