According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in September this year decreased by 5.7 percent month on month and was up by 13 percent year on year to 3.0 million mt.
In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 20.4 percent, while production by integrated plants decreased by 0.5 percent, both year on year.
In the January-September period of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 13.5 percent to 27.7 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 19 percent to 19.1 million mt, while production by integrated plants increased by three percent to 8.6 million mt, both year on year.
In the January-September period of this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 9.9 percent to 18.9 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 22.1 percent to 8.8 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
