Turkey’s crude steel output increases by 13.3 percent in January-October

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in October this year increased by 10.2 percent month on month and was up by 11.1 percent year on year to 3.3 million mt. 

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 16.8 percent, while production by integrated plants decreased by 0.3 percent, both year on year.

In the January-October period of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 13.3 percent to 31.05 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 18.8 percent to 21.4 million mt, while production by integrated plants increased by 2.7 percent to 9.6 million mt, both year on year.

In the January-October period of this year, Turkey's billet output increased by 10.8 percent to 21.2 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 19 percent to 9.7 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
