In March this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 38.8 percent month on month to 75,449 mt as compared to the previous month and were up 14.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $48.6 million, increasing by 33 percent month on month and up 25 percent year on year.
In the first three months of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 188,893 mt, up 5.1 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 24.2 percent to $124 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 65,767 mt, down 23.58 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Belgium totaled 28,677 mt.
