In May this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 83.7 percent month on month to 116,074 mt and were up 75.3 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $77.9 million, rising by 82 percent month on month and up 96 percent year on year.
In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 368,145 mt, up 15 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 33.1 percent to $244.66 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 161,916 mt, up 3.48 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Belgium totaled 36,342 mt.
