In September this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports were almost stable month on month at 113,141 mt compared to the previous month and were up 137 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $63.2 million, increasing by three percent month on month and up 139.3 percent year on year.
In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 673,074 mt, up 12.4 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 45 percent to $383 million, both year on year.
In the first nine months, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 309,928 mt, up 14.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 87,830 mt, falling by 16.91 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
