In September this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 45.8 percent month on month to 75,701 mt, down 33.1 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $49.9 million, up 42.2 percent compared to August and down 21 percent year on year.
In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 636,538 mt, down 5.42 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 10.8 percent to $424.4 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 293,769 mt, down 5.21 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from China totaled 93,264 mt.
