In May this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 6.2 percent month on month to 74,017 mt, down 36.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $43.60 million, decreasing by 8.2 percent compared to April and down 44 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first five months of this year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 293,957 metric tons, down 20.2 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these imports totaled $181.14 million, decreasing by 26 percent compared to same period of 2018.
In the January-May period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 159,685 mt, down 1.4 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Romania totaled 28,198 mt.
