In April this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 12.6 percent month on month to 74,019 mt compared to the previous month and were down 7.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $44.3 million, increasing by 14 percent month on month and up 45.3 percent year on year.
In the January-April period of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 253,763 mt, down 1.5 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 41 percent to $144 million, both year on year.
In the first four months, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 126,515 mt, up 22.02 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 36,899 mt, falling by 28.58 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
