In April this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 43.7 percent month on month to 78,930 mt, up 24.9 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $47.5 million, rising by 45.9 percent compared to March and up 11.1 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 219,937 metric tons, down 12.7 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these imports totaled $137.53 million, decreasing by 17.5 percent compared to same period of 2018.
In the January-April period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 129,834 mt, up 34.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Romania totaled 19,961 mt.
