Turkey's CRC imports down 1.2 percent in January-August

In August this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 117 percent month on month to 122,974 mt, up 90 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $135.28 million, increasing by 136 percent compared to July and up 306 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 526,371 metric tons, down 1.2 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these imports totaled $459.9 million, increasing by 67.5 percent compared to the same period of 2020.

In the first eight months of this year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 216,328 mt, down 33.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from China totaled 173,382 mt.
