In April this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 16.3 percent to 63,180 mt as compared to the previous month and were down 4.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $42.8 million, decreasing by 12.1 percent month on month and down 3.4 percent year on year.
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 252,073 mt, down 0.7 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 15.7 percent to $166.7 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 96,477 mt, down 23.7 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Belgium totaled 32,576 mt.
