In February this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil imports totaled 62,551 metric tons, increasing by 50.60 percent compared to the same month of 2013 and down 3.11 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $43.03 million, increasing by 45.58 percent year on year and down 3.69 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year, Turkey's CR coil imports increased by 32.03 percent to 127,138 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $87.72 million, up 29.53 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first two months of the current year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CR coil import sources, supplying 42,433 metric tons, down 21.93 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CR coil imports from Ukraine surged to 28,404 metric tons, compared to 4,813 metric tons in January-February 2013.
