Turkey's coking coal imports up 8.75 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 57.5 percent month on month to 332,798 mt, up 40.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports decreased by 62.5 percent to $38.30 million compared to the previous month and decreasing by 8.01 percent year on year.


In the January-April period of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 8.75 percent to 1.76 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $221.03 million, down 28.47 percent, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US amounted to 664,307 mt, while coking coal imports from Canada totaled 376,319 mt.
