In October this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 19.3 percent month on month to 399,009 mt, down 22.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports decreased by 20.3 percent to $56.69 million compared to the previous month and rising by 14.4 percent year on year.
In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 6.1 percent to 4.45 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $782.1 million, up 107.5 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US amounted to 1,771,040 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia totaled 1,230,058 mt.
