In July this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 37.3 percent month on month to 395,963 mt, up 65.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 35 percent to $52.31 million compared to the previous month and increased by 112.3 percent year on year.
In the January-July period, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 3.7 percent to 3.25 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $427.8 million, up 10.1 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 1.7 million mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 655,774 mt.
