Turkey's coking coal imports down six percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 80 percent month on month to 514,658 mt, rising by 14 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $49.5 million, up 90.4 percent compared to September and 8.44 percent year on year.

In the first ten months, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by six percent to 4.2 million mt, while the value of these imports decreased by 22.7 percent to $376.9 million, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 2,038,048 mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 1,013,302 mt.
