Turkey's chrome ore exports up 4.32 percent in Jan-Nov

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first 11 months of 2013 Turkey's chrome ore exports increased by 4.32 percent to 2.03 million metric tons, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $412.19 million, up 7.58 percent, both on year-on-year basis.

 

On the other hand, in November last year Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 199,400 metric tons, down 19.24 percent compared to November 2012 and down 2.60 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $41.49 million, down 11.38 percent year on year and rising by 2.66 percent on month-on-month basis.

In the January-November period last year, Turkey's largest and almost only export destination for chrome ore was China, which received 1.88 million mt, up 12.31 percent year on year. Sweden followed China in the period in question, importing 76,748 mt of chrome ore from Turkey, down 42.59 percent year on year.
