Turkey’s Cemtas increases sales by 43 percent in 2010

In 2010, Bursa-based Turkish steelmaker Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S (Cemtas) posted total sales of 124,315 metric tons, climbing by 43 percent compared to the previous year. Of the total sales volume, 46,443 metric tons were shipped to the domestic market - up 29 percent, while sales to foreign markets jumped by 53 percent, reaching 77,872 metric tons, both compared to 2009. In the year in question, the share of export sales in the company's total sales came to 63 percent, compared to 59 percent in 2009.

In 2010, Cemtas' steel billet output totaled 140,453 metric tons, improving by 49.54 percent year on year, while its rolled steel output rose by 48 percent year on year, amounting to 128,041 metric tons. 

Cemtas is specialized in the production of special grade steel, mainly for the automotive and machine manufacturing industries. The company has a melt shop with an annual capacity of 153,150 metric tons, and a rolling mill with an annual capacity of 228,160 metric tons.
