Turkey’s billet imports up 42.4 percent in January from December level

In January this year, Turkey's billet and bloom import volume increased by 38 percent year on year to 361,716 mt, up 42.4 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports totaled $185.5 million, up 76.4 percent year on year and increasing by 41.3 percent compared to the previous month.


 
In the given period, Turkey imported 226,664 mt of billet and bloom from Russia, up 107.27 percent year on year, with Russia ranking as Turkey's leading billet and bloom import source, ahead of Ukraine which supplied 125,258 mt in the given period.
