Turkey’s billet imports down 52.9 percent in January-November

In November last year, Turkey's billet and bloom import volume decreased by 43.1 percent year on year to 133,897 mt, down 2.4 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports totaled $72.4 million, down 12.6 percent year on year and increasing by one percent compared to the previous month.

In the first 11 months of the last year, Turkey's billet import volume amounted to 2.03 million mt, falling by 52.9 percent, while the value of these imports decreased by 35.6 percent to $896.7 million, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Turkey imported 778,197 mt of billet and bloom from Ukraine, down 39.69 percent year on year, with Ukraine ranking as Turkey's leading billet and bloom import source, ahead of Russia which supplied 667,998 mt in the given period.
