According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year Turkey's monthly industrial production index increased by 1.5 percent year on year, while the seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index decreased by 3.1 percent compared to the previous month.
In January, the index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 8.4 percent year on year and was down 2.8 percent from December last year, while the index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products rose by 14.5 percent year on year and was down by 13.5 percent compared to the previous month.
