Turkey sees its ferroalloy imports increase in October

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's ferroalloy imports rose 14.9 percent compared to the previous month and were up 22.7 percent compared to October 2011, totaling 42,981 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $58.15 million, increasing by 17.6 percent as compared to September and up seven percent year on year.

In the first 10 months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 360,144 metric tons, decreasing 3.4 percent compared to January-October 2011.

Ferroalloy imports from Ukraine in October this year amounted to 21,855 metric tons, up 33 percent compared to the previous month, while imports from India in the period in question amounted to 7,088 mt, down 10 percent compared to September. Meanwhile, Russia exported 6,626 mt of ferroalloys to Turkey in October, up 17.1 percent month on month.
